Sew Together Bag

This nifty little bag has 3 zippered pockets, 4 open pockets and a zippered closure that forms 2 handles.






















This is a great "Go" bag for all of your "Retreat" notions!  It easily fits an 8" scissor and can be accessorized however you would like for your personal style.


Materials Needed

1 Fat Quarter (exterior)
1/2 yd x WOF (lining)
1/3 yd x WOF (pocket lining)
1 Fat Quarter (binding)
1/2 yd Fusible lightweight interfacing
18'' x 22'' piece of batting or fusible fleece (if quilting)
1 - 18'' zipper
3 - 9'' zippers


Homework

Cut fabric and interfacing as follows:

Cut exterior fabric 13 1/2'' x 9 3/4'' (if directional fabric, cut 2 pieces at 7'' x 9 3/4, sew together at 9 3/4'' using a 1/4'' seam)
Cut 2 side panels of exterior fabric (be sure to cut on the fold)

Cut lining fabric - 4 pieces 8 3/4'' x 9 3/4'', label B1, B2, B3 and B4
Cut 2 side panels of lining fabric on the fold

Pocket lining; cut 6 rectangles 4'' x 9 3/4'' each

Binding; cut 2 strips 2 1/4'' x 15'' (side bindings)
Cut 2 strips 2 1/4'' x 20'' (exterior zipper binding)
Cut 2 strips 1 3/4'' x 6'' (zipper tabs)

Interfacing; Cut exterior 13 1/2'' x 9 3/4'' (if not using fleece or batting)
Cut lining B1, B2, B3, and B4 - 8 3/4'' x 9 3/4''
Cut 2 side panels on fold, adhere to lining fabric

Adhere all interfacing to corresponding pieces (wrong sides)

If using batting or fleece, please quilt or embellish as desired

Bring all pieces, zippers, bindings and notions as well as your machine to class.
